Outside work you'll usually find me walking my three Cairn Terriers—Jim, Hudson and Doc. They accompany me almost everywhere and are excellent judges of character (although they can occasionally be bribed with biscuits).

I have a deep hatred of unnecessary complexity. Not because I like tidy paperwork. Because I've seen how complicated businesses exhaust good people.
Over the last thirty years I've worked everywhere from global corporations and fast-growing tech companies to family businesses I've built myself.
The industry never mattered. The pattern was always the same. Somewhere along the way, simple became complicated. Processes grew. Workarounds became "how we do things." Owners became trapped inside the businesses they'd worked so hard to build.
I've spent my career spotting those patterns. Removing the unnecessary. Creating systems people actually enjoy using.
